Hello
I would like to have a specially themed microsite for more prestigious photographers, but I can't see how it is possible to restrict photos to just one photographer.
Is this something that could be perhaps done by keyword if this is not possible?
Thanks

Could you explain in a bit more detail what you're aiming to achieve?

Hello Jamie
I would like to have the gallery only show pictures by one particular photographer so they could link to it from their site to sell photographs. I was thinking this could be a custom search, but this does not seem to be possible by photographer name, so was thinking by keyword.
Of course, if they navigated away from the search, then it would allow them to see other people's photos so that is not a brilliant solution.

This is something I have put a huge thought into and would love to have implemented as it is key to my concept:
1. A photographer would like to sign up to sell photos and uses the regular register form but there would be an added check box requesting that they would like to be a photographer on the site (by checking that box an additional statement appears with photographer terms and conditions which needs agreement with). The admin would be sent an email to verify this in the user / photographer admin to confirm this as would be stated during the register end process.
2. The photographer has the same rights and options as currently available, HOWEVER, the photographer would then be able to fill in a whole bunch of information that would be displayed on their specific photographer microsite page displayable to the browsers of the site - definable / editable in the photographer / user admin page (the admin could add and name fields as necessary), and of course the usual way of the photographer editing their own details.
3. The specific photographer microsite page could display the following:
a. Those fields filled in as determined by what the admin has set, such as:
i. Name
ii. Website
iii. Preferred Genre
iv. Camera
v. Lenses
vi. Location
vii. Profile
viii. History etc etc
b. A list of galleries by that photographer
4. The search page could have the option of listing by photographer.
5. The photographer if defined by the admin could have rights to blog for the front end on the blog system with their profile name being listed as the poster and of course a filter to read their blogs only, perhaps even a news/ blog summary pixie on the photographer microsite page.
6. Perhaps even a way of when the photographer signs up, they get their username / shortname and this could be a way of them quick linking into their microsite page, for example
www.coastmountainwater.com/jamie.longstaff
www.coastmountainwater.com/vince.shulley
which really keys in the microsite idea and gives some branding / ownership to the photographer. HOWEVER as a security method, a list of current PIXARIA folders could be in the security of the register process to stop someone having their profile as /resources etc and thus comprising site integrity - a message on registering saying to the effect that that username is not availible..
7. A pixie or edit of the random pixie to include the option of a random picture by a specific photographer id.
8. What would be awesome to is that once the photographer has been improved there is a prompt via email to the photographer and a prompt to sign in and fill in any missing profile fields if they would like to or the option to add a profile headshot / picture / thumbnail.
9. Also I note there is no way for a photographer or any user to cancel / close their account currently...
10. Inclusion in meta info.
11. An admin option in the photographer / user area per user / photographer for the admin to turn on or off specific photographers from having their microsite displayed for abuse / content issues / breach of terms etc.
I don't think there is anything too crazy in here and could really enhance the photographers appearance and a real draw for them to contribute to the site. |

That's a really interesting idea... I'll give it some thought as it might be something that could be incorporated when I get to version 3 and above.
